When you sponsor a Door-to-Door session, we’ll come to you! Groups, organizations, companies, institutions, families – anyone can sponsor on-site recording for one or more days. For a fee*, StoryCorps staff will bring their portable equipment to your location and can record up to six 40-minute interviews per day.

StoryCorps sessions are a great way to capture your organizational or community history. By collaborating with StoryCorps, you can offer people an authentic and sometimes transformative experience with each other – and with your organization.

Members of your group will emerge feeling closer, and understand each other better. StoryCorps helps us celebrate our shared humanity and collective identity, by capturing and defining the stories that bond us.

*Organizations who participate in the September 11th Initiative or the Memory Loss Initiative may qualify for free Door-to-Door recording days.

StoryCorps provides:

  • Two highly trained StoryCorps Facilitators with professional audio and photographic equipment.
  • One copy of each interview for the participants, with an additional copy to be archived at a local repository.
  • Archiving of the interviews in the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress
  • Assistance in developing a menu of questions, tailored to your group’s needs and interests, for participants to use in interviews.
  • The legal rights of usage for the interviews recorded

Door-to-Door partner provides:

  • A quiet, peaceful space to record.
  • Participants (up to six pairs or individuals a day).
  • A coordinator who will work with StoryCorps to plan the Door-to-Door event.
