Manager, Fee-for-Service Unit StoryCorps

The Fee-For-Service (FFS) Unit is a new unit responsible for proactively marketing and responding to customer inquiries regarding StoryCorps services provided on a Fee-for-Service basis. The Manager of the StoryCorps Fee-for-Service (FFS) Unit is responsible for developing, growing, and improving a department focused on the sales of revenue-generating StoryCorps services. These services include “Door-to-Door” interview days, installation of semi-permanent StoryBooths, nationally, production services, StoryKits, and MobileBooth stops. The Manager is responsible for meeting annual revenue targets and partnering with other StoryCorps departments to build capacity to increase revenue in subsequent years. The FFS Manager will supervise one FFS Coordinator. The FFS Manager reports to the Director of Development.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Meet annual revenue-generating targets; regularly review progress toward goals and recommend changes in strategies
- Research new markets and proactively sell StoryCorps services to potential customers
- Partner with Marketing & Communications to develop plans to market revenue-generating services
- Respond to inquiries about StoryCorps services
- Liaise with StoryCorps departments who fulfill FFS requests
- Partner with Finance Department to set competitive and profitable pricing of services
- Recommend improvements based on review of inquiry and customer feedback trends
- Ensure complete satisfaction of Fee-for-Service customers
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in non-profit development or sales
- Experience in managing staff
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills
- Solid organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong conflict resolution and teamwork skills
- Basic skills or fluency in a language other than English is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office word processing, spreadsheet, email, and database software Proficiency on a Mac platform is preferred
- Must be a proactive problem-solver; adaptive to growing, changing organization
- Bachelor’s degree required
