StoryKit Intern

StoryKits are designed for a do-it-yourself approach to the StoryCorps interview.  Each kit contains recording equipment and instructions for use.  StoryCorps’ Facilities & Archive team is looking for an intern to assist with the StoryKit program.
Responsibilities may include but will not be limited to:

  • Manage and track StoryKit field recording equipment.
  • Process StoryKit interview materials in preparation for transfer to the Library of Congress.
  • Provide technical support related to StoryKit equipment.
  • Create and maintain office resources for the StoryKit program.
  • Track special archive initiative participants of the StoryKit program.
  • Follow up correspondence with participants.

Strong attention to detail, organizational and interpersonal skills are required, as is a basic proficiency with computers.  Experience working with audio recording equipment is a plus.  A strong belief in the organization’s mission is a must.
This internship provides an opportunity to gain experience with the technical aspects of a large scale oral history project.
