Participant Relations Intern
The Participant Relations Intern is an integral part of the StoryCorps. You will have the opportunity to speak with participants on a daily basis and share with them information about the StoryCorps project, interview reservations, and the interview process. In many cases, you will be the first StoryCorps representative they are speaking with and your role is incredibly important in ensuring the integrity of StoryCorps. This internship will provide you key work experience utilizing a complex reservations system, assisting in the management of the StoryKit program, and providing support for our inquiries system.
Projects may include, but will not be limited to:
- Correspond and speak with StoryCorps participants daily.
- StoryKit program support: finalizing reservations, scheduling rentals, and tracking completed interviews
- Manage and track the waitlist for all StoryCorps locations
- Log and respond to incoming queries about StoryCorps
- Coordinate volunteers and produce a monthly volunteer newsletter
- General administrative tasks as needed
- Participate and share ideas for a growing Participant Relations function
- Support Participant Relations efforts managing our call center
Qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal, rapport building, and presentation skills
- Pleasant and professional phone persona
- Function proactively in a fast-paced work environment with multiple responsibilities
- Strong problem-solving and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to function independently, yet proactively as a team player
- Experience with Excel and databases helpful
- Mac platform preferred or quick learning ability
- Background in customer service a plus
