Archive Intern

The StoryCorps Facilities & Archive Department manages the upkeep of the booths and recording equipment, as well as maintaining the in-house archive and transferring materials to the Library of Congress. 


The Facilities & Archive team is looking for an intern to assist with the management of its database and archive.
Responsibilities may include but will not be limited to:
 

  • Prepare interview materials for transfer to the Library of Congress.
  • Coordinate volunteer archive processing sessions.
  • Assist in establishing StoryCorps Local Archives with partner organizations around the country.
  • Follow up correspondence with participants.
  • Additional organizational projects surrounding the archive.

 
Strong attention to detail, organizational and interpersonal skills are required; as is a proficiency with computers (Mac OSX preferred).  Experience in libraries or archives, or with oral history projects a plus.  A strong belief in the organization’s mission is a must.


This internship provides an opportunity to gain experience with the archive operations of a large scale oral history project.
