Coordinator of Marketing, Marketing & Communications Department
Reports to the Director of Marketing & Communications
Position Overview:
StoryCorps’ mission is to honor and celebrate one another’s lives through listening. The Coordinator of Marketing works directly with management and across the organization to create the public face of StoryCorps, as we offer our services and our content to an expanding range of people and institutions. As a key member of a fast paced, highly collaborative team, the Coordinator helps StoryCorps departments and programs communicate with constituents, to ensure their most productive experience with StoryCorps. The Coordinator of Marketing reports to Director of Marketing & Communications and works as a team with the Senior Coordinator of Communications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilites:
- Implement all marketing efforts, track progress regularly and evaluate results
- Develop and implement marketing strategies and organization-wide plans for specific products or services to meet organizational goals
- Create and produce promotional messages, materials, and campaigns
- Work with the senior leadership to establish and reinforce an institutional identity and brand
- Collaborate with customer-facing departments (Outreach, Mobile, Initiatives, Earned Revenue Services) to develop marketing and promotion plans.
- Draft, edit, and manage the design and production of all marketing collateral, including printed materials, signage, e-materials, newsletters, and templates for use by customer-facing departments
- Work collaboratively with Webmaster on website, e-communications, and online results tracking. Work with facilitators to manage the StoryCorps blog.
- Create co-branded StoryCorps materials and messages in collaboration with partner institutions and sponsors
- Create online and printed sales materials for StoryCorps’ earned revenue services.
- Provide marketing support for StoryCorps “content,” new products, and services
- Create agency-wide materials for use by Development to co-ordinate marketing to past participants/alumni.
- Coordinate with Participant Relations and Site Supervisors to track the impact of marketing efforts
- Support Communications team for media relations efforts and external communications including press events.
- Manage StoryCorps digital assets such logos, photos, audio files, and testimonials
- Manage marketing budgets and materials inventory
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:

2 – 3 years experience in Marketing, Communications or a related field
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated analytical skills and problem-solving ability; adaptive to growing, changing organization
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office word processing, spreadsheet, email, and database software. Basic html (blog level) and experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, In Design) is required
- Proficiency on a Mac platform is preferred
- Basic skills or fluency in a language other than English is preferred. Fluent Spanish language skills are strongly preferred
