The Coordinator of the StoryCorps Door-to-Door Department is responsible for supporting the day-to-day logistics and operations of a new department that specializes in completing StoryCorps interviews with portable recording equipment. StoryCorps “Door-to-Door” (D2D) interview days are done for both paying customers and for groups that encompass special StoryCorps initiatives to target populations (for example, people experiencing memory loss). D2D’s represent an area of rapid growth and opportunity for the organization. The Coordinator works with initiating StoryCorps Departments, Facilitators, and external partners and customers in planning for the interview days to ensure that participants have the highest quality StoryCorps interview experience possible. The D2D Coordinator reports to the Manager of the Door-to-Door Department.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Organize Fee-for-Service and grant-funded D2D days
  • Create and review plans/logistical details with Facilitators for specific D2D assignments
  • Organize and maintain a schedule of available D2D Facilitator teams
  • Liaise with StoryCorps departments to fulfill D2D service requests
  • Coordinate all D2D interview processes including: interview preparation, interviews, archival processing, etc.
  • Train new Facilitators; provide refresher trainings to existing Facilitators
  • Serve as a point of contact with partners and customers
  • Compile and analyze partner and customer feedback
  • Directly manage and monitor all logistics and support systems
  • Partner with Facilities and Archives Department to ensure the maintenance and functionality of equipment used on interviews
  • Troubleshoot D2D equipment with facilitators


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in administrative/logistical support position
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must be comfortable learning and using new technology
  • Strong conflict resolution and teamwork skills
  • Basic skills or fluency in a language other than English is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office word processing, spreadsheet, email, and database software.  Proficiency on a Mac platform is preferred
  • Must be a proactive problem-solver; adaptive to growing, changing organization
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Experience in oral history or documentary work a plus
